10 More Easy Ways Teens Can Make Money

If you haven’t read the first one in this series, check it out here. Getting work experience while earning cash is a super valuable way to spend time. Here are 10 more side hustles that can put that extra cash in your pocket.

1. Pet Sitting

Do you want to get paid to take care of a cute pet for a few hours?

If you are a dog or cat lover, consider advertising pet sitting services on social media or around your neighborhood. It’s a really fun way to make some money during your free time.

2. Teach music lessons

Is there an instrument that you love and have been playing for years?

Teaching beginner music lessons to younger kids can be a profitable way to make money while doing something you love.

3. Teach a sport

Would you want to help teach little kids your sport?

If there is a sport that you are passionate about, you can start teaching beginner classes and can even consider doing group lessons.

4. House sit

If you don’t like the idea of having to watch little kids or pets, how about plants and mailboxes?

If you have neighbors who you know well, you can offer to check their mailbox and water their plants while they are away on vacation. It isn’t as high commitment as babysitting or pet sitting, and can still make you some quick cash.

5. Work in retail

If you prioritize a cool work environment, how about your favorite store?

Working in your favorite store means having a nice work environment, getting customer service experience, and potentially getting employee discounts!

6. Sell old books

Do you have old books you haven’t touched in years that are lying around your room and house?

You can turn that clutter into cash through a website like BookScouter or eBay. It’s simple, quick, and high-reward.

7. Work as a camp counselor

Would you consider revisiting summer camp again as a counselor instead of a camper?

It’s one of the classic teen summer jobs, and for good reason. You can build connections with other counselors, mentor kids, and have a lot of fun while making money.

8. Lifeguard

If you spend your whole summer around the pool or beach, why not get paid to do that?

You can get certified after some lifeguard training, and then apply to work at a local pool to make some cash while keeping people safe over the summer.

9. Have a garage sale

If you have a lot of clutter and want to clean out your room/house while making money, why not have a garage sale?

You can spread the word with flyers and social media, and then just set out the things you don’t use and negotiate the prices as people come by. This will help you pocket some money and declutter your room/house at the same time.

10. Deliver food (18+)

Can you drive and are 18 or older?

Using Instacart, Postmates, Uber Eats, or DoorDash to make deliveries in your free time is an easy and popular job.
